How It Began

Our Story

"One game became two, one night became a week, and our one conversation never ended."

It started with a video game, a microphone, and a little bit of fate. In October 2017, by pure chance, Keri and Jack found themselves in the same match of Friday the 13th: The Video Game โ€” a charismatic Jason Voorhees and a gentler voice on the other end. They've been talking every day since.

When my sister told me Friday the 13th was being released as a video game, I knew I had to play it. A few weeks in, I was matched with a charismatic guy who took being Jason Voorhees very seriously โ€” and I appreciated his commitment to the bit. Since it was rare to find someone using a mic, we added each other and fell into nearly nightly gaming sessions.

Months of talking later, we decided it was time to meet. In April 2018, outside Mission Bar in my hometown, we finally did. We shared a long, snowy hug while curious onlookers watched from inside. He was even cuter in person, and the laughs came just as easily as they had online.

I met Keri on a dark and spooky night in October 2017. By random chance we were in a game together โ€” both talkative, though her approach was a bit gentler than mine. We talked about aspirations, desires, troubles, regrets. We got to know each other for a long time without thinking we'd ever meet.

Then one day we did meet. A short 3-hour drive that became a near-weekly ritual. Deciding the highways weren't the easiest way to date, Keri moved to Syracuse and I accidentally moved in with her. When COVID hit we kept each other sane โ€” and when it didn't go away, at least we were insane together.

Browsing records together
"We escaped to Philadelphia and began a new life together in a big city."

Eventually they traded Syracuse for Philadelphia โ€” a new city, new friendships, and a new chapter. They got a dog named Sam, and their little family felt more complete than ever. Now, a little over eight years after a chance meeting in a now-defunct video game, they're making it official.

Meet Sam

Every great love story needs a dog. Sam joined our family in 2022 and made everything feel more complete. He's our shy, sweet boy who loves to sing!

Questions

Q&A

A few things you may be wondering about.

When is the RSVP deadline?
Please RSVP by 8/21, so we can have an accurate headcount.
Can I bring a date?
Please check your invite for your +1.
What will the weather be like?
Philly in October is usually in the 70s during the day and drops a bit at night. The main party will be outdoors but we do have heaters and an indoor space available as well.
Where should I park?
We'd recommend using a ride share service to get to the venue. There is a paid parking garage available nearby if needed but it fills up quickly.
What should I wear?
Cocktail Attire. We encourage you to lean into the moody, romantic evening.
Is the wedding indoors or outdoors?
Our wedding ceremony and reception are outdoors with a covered option for rain. Cocktail hour and after party will be held indoors.
Is it okay to take pictures with our phones and cameras during the wedding?
We'd love for everyone to be fully present during the ceremony, so please keep phones tucked away and let our photographer capture the moment.
Is the after party open to all guests?
Yes! The after party runs from 11pmโ€“1am at Fitler Club and is open to all wedding guests. Please let us know in your RSVP responses if you will be staying for this portion of the night. We will have games, drinks and late night Philly bites!
Whom should I call with questions?
Call Keri or Jack!
May I bring my little ones?
We love your little ones, but our wedding is an adult-only celebration โ€” with the exception of our flower girl and ring bearer who are part of the wedding party. We hope you enjoy a fun night out!
